Last updated: April 2026

Definitions

"Company", "we", "us", "our" — Jamie Kerr trading as One Life, Hike It ("OLHI"), operating from Catalonia, Spain.

"Customer", "you", "your", "guest", "participant" — Any individual who books, pays for, or participates in a holiday, tour, or service offered by OLHI.

"Holiday" — The walking holiday package or any service supplied by OLHI.

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully. By making a booking, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted them on behalf of yourself and all members of your travelling party.

1. Bookings and Confirmation

1.1 A booking is considered confirmed only upon receipt of the deposit specified in Section 5.

1.2 Unpaid or unconfirmed reservations will be cancelled seven (7) days after the initial request.

1.3 Optional services (transfers, private experiences, dietary arrangements, additional nights, etc.) must be requested in writing at the time of booking. Once confirmed, these are binding and subject to the same cancellation terms as the main booking.

1.4 All guests must be aged 18 years or older.

1.5 The lead guest (the person making the booking) confirms they have authority to accept these terms on behalf of all members of their party and is responsible for all payments relating to the booking.

2. Health and Physical Fitness

By booking, you confirm that you:

  • Are physically fit and free from any medical condition that could affect your ability to participate safely in walking and hiking activities.

  • Understand that this holiday requires a moderate level of fitness, with daily walking distances of up to 16 km and elevation gains of up to 500 m.

  • Will consult a medical professional in advance if you have any doubt about your fitness for the activities described.

  • Will disclose to OLHI any chronic medical conditions or physical limitations before departure.

3. Travel Insurance (Mandatory)

Adequate travel insurance is a mandatory condition of booking. At minimum, your policy must include:

  • Trip cancellation and curtailment cover (including cover for pre-existing conditions, where relevant).

  • Medical and emergency evacuation cover, explicitly including hiking and walking activities.

  • Cover for personal belongings and travel disruption.

You are responsible for ensuring your policy remains valid for the full duration of your holiday. OLHI may request proof of insurance before final payment is due. OLHI accepts no liability for losses that would have been covered had you held appropriate insurance.

4. Travel Documents

You are responsible for ensuring you hold:

  • A valid passport with at least six (6) months' validity beyond your date of return.

  • Any necessary visas, entry permits, or health documentation required for entry into Spain.

OLHI cannot be held liable for any costs, losses, or missed services resulting from inadequate travel documentation.

5. Payment Structure

The total price of your holiday is split as follows:

  • Deposit — 25% of total, due at time of booking (non-refundable).

  • Balance — 75% of total, due 60 days before trip start date.

For bookings made 9 or more months in advance, we are happy to arrange an optional three-stage payment plan on request. Please enquire at time of booking.

5.1 The deposit is non-refundable except in the event of a cancellation by OLHI under Section 8.

5.2 Bookings made within 60 days of the trip start date require payment in full at the time of booking.

5.3 Failure to make any scheduled payment by the due date may result in cancellation of the booking, with the full applicable cancellation charge (see Section 6) applied.

5.4 All prices are quoted in Euros (€). Payments made in other currencies are subject to exchange rate fluctuations; you are responsible for any bank or currency conversion fees.

6. Cancellation by the Customer

All cancellations must be made in writing to info@onelifehike.com. The cancellation date is the date we receive your written notice.

Because we pre-commit funds to hotels, transfer providers, and partner experiences on your behalf, the following cancellation charges apply:

  • 90 days or more before trip start: Loss of deposit (25% of total).

  • 60–89 days before trip start: 50% of total.

  • 30–59 days before trip start: 75% of total.

  • Less than 30 days before trip start, or no-show: 100% of total.

6.1 Cancellation charges reflect non-recoverable costs already paid or committed to suppliers on your behalf. The deposit is non-refundable in all circumstances other than cancellation by OLHI (Section 8).

6.2 Where you hold travel insurance with trip cancellation cover (see Section 3), you may be able to recover these charges from your insurer depending on the reason for cancellation.

6.3 Cancellations arising from circumstances personal to you — including but not limited to illness, injury, family emergencies, employment changes, or geopolitical or news events that do not directly affect Catalonia — are subject to the charges above regardless of cause. Travel insurance is the appropriate mechanism for recovering these losses.

7. Rebookings and Transfers

7.1 Requests to change trip dates must be made in writing at least 90 days before the original trip start date.

7.2 Rebookings are subject to availability and incur an administrative fee of €100 per person, plus any increase in supplier costs (e.g. hotel rate differences between seasons).

7.3 Rebookings requested within 90 days of the trip start date will be treated as a cancellation and new booking, with cancellation charges under Section 6 applied.

7.4 You may transfer your booking to another person at least 30 days before the trip start date, subject to OLHI's agreement and a €100 per person administrative fee. The original and substitute guests are jointly liable for any outstanding payments.

8. Cancellation by OLHI / Force Majeure

8.1 OLHI reserves the right to cancel or modify a booking in circumstances of force majeure — meaning unavoidable and extraordinary events at or significantly affecting the destination (Catalonia, Spain) that make safe delivery of the holiday impossible. This includes, but is not limited to: natural disasters, outbreak of hostilities, public health emergencies declared by competent authorities, significant civil unrest, or government travel restrictions affecting travel to or within the destination.

8.2 In such circumstances, you will be offered a choice of:

  • (a) Rebooking to an alternative date within 12 months, at no additional administrative charge;

  • (b) A credit voucher for the full value of monies received, valid for 18 months; or

  • (c) A refund of monies received, less any non-recoverable costs already paid to suppliers (hotels, transfer providers, experience partners).

8.3 OLHI is not liable for consequential losses (flights, connecting travel, lost earnings, incidental expenses) arising from a cancellation under this clause. These losses should be recovered through your travel insurance.

8.4 Events occurring outside the destination that do not directly prevent your travel to or participation in the holiday do not constitute force majeure under this clause, and standard customer cancellation terms under Section 6 will apply.

9. Credit Vouchers

9.1 Credit vouchers may be offered at OLHI's sole discretion as a goodwill gesture in cancellation circumstances not otherwise covered by these terms.

9.2 Where offered, credit vouchers are valid for 18 months from the date of issue, non-transferable, and non-refundable for cash.

9.3 The offer of a credit voucher is entirely at OLHI's discretion and does not constitute an obligation or precedent for future bookings.

10. Our Responsibility and Limitations

10.1 OLHI will use reasonable skill and care in arranging the services described in your holiday itinerary.

10.2 OLHI is not liable for:

  • Injuries, illnesses, or accidents occurring during walking, hiking, or free-time activities.

  • Losses caused by weather, animals, or natural conditions.

  • Loss, theft, or damage to personal property.

  • Delays, changes, or failures of third-party services (flights, public transport, restaurants) not booked by OLHI.

10.3 Damage caused by you to hotel property, transfer vehicles, or equipment will be charged directly to you at cost.

10.4 Our total liability under any booking will not exceed the total price paid for that booking.

11. Risks and Responsibility

Walking and hiking carry inherent risks. By booking, you accept responsibility for:

  • Your own physical fitness and medical condition.

  • Following the provided GPS navigation, route notes, and safety guidance.

  • Any medical expenses arising from illness or injury during the holiday.

  • Exercising reasonable care during all activities.

You agree to indemnify OLHI against any claims relating to accidents, injuries, or incidents arising from your own conduct or from risks inherent to the activity.

12. Data Protection and GDPR

12.1 OLHI processes your personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Spanish data protection law.

12.2 Personal data provided to us is used solely for the purpose of fulfilling your booking, communicating about your holiday, and — only with your consent — sending occasional marketing communications.

12.3 Your data will not be sold or shared with third parties except as necessary to deliver the services booked (e.g. hotels, transfer providers).

12.4 By participating in the holiday, you consent to being photographed or filmed during activities, and to these materials being used for promotional purposes. You may withdraw this consent at any time by contacting us at info@onelifehike.com.

12.5 You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting info@onelifehike.com.

13. Complaints

If any aspect of your holiday does not meet your expectations, please notify OLHI immediately at the time of the issue, in person or by telephone (+34 612 562 545), so we have the opportunity to resolve it. Complaints not raised during the holiday cannot reasonably be rectified after the fact and may limit our ability to address them.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Spain. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Catalonia.
